WUSC, in partnership with the Institute for the Development of Community Strengths (INDECOS), organized advocacy events in recognition of the International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

Although initially scheduled for 2025, the events were postponed to 2026 but were celebrated under the 2025 global theme. The first activity was held on 21st January 2026 at Matara Technical College, followed by a second event on 22nd January 2026 at the National Youth Council.

The initiative was supported by WUSC and Global Affairs Canada and implemented by INDECOS. The events brought together youth, educators, and community stakeholders to raise awareness, promote dialogue, and encourage collective action towards preventing gender-based violence and advancing gender equality.

These engagements reaffirm the commitment of WUSC and INDECOS to empowering communities and fostering safe, inclusive, and equitable societies.
